It was a first for Tohru, being the one who climbed to the roof of Shigure's house to do some thinking instead of a certain cat of the zodiac. She had found that Kyou had the right idea. Her head felt clearer, like she could really sort out her thoughts with no interruptions. She wasn't alone for long. Kyou had followed her to the roof, taking her by surprise.

"This is unusual," he said. "That you climbed to the roof."

Tohru was silent but that didn't stop the boy from sitting beside her. He spoke again after a few minutes.

"Did you go exploring today?"

"Eh?"

"Your clothes, they were really dirty when you came home."

Tohru lowered her head. She couldn't let Kyou know that she went to the Main House to visit Kureno.

"Ah... yes. I was only able to do the bare minimum."

"Huh?"

Tohru fidgeted in her seat. As much as she wanted to tell the boy the reason she really went out, she couldn't not just yet. However, she found herself telling Kyou what had been plaguing her mind ever since she climbed up to the roof. The wind picked up suddenly, making the girl shiver.

"... Wanting to be with the person you like," Tohru hugged her legs, bring them closer to her body. "You want... to be by their side..."

It was Kyou's turn to be silent. He dropped his gaze from Tohru, choosing to look out into the view instead.

"... What, did you get yourself a boyfriend?"

That made Tohru panic, shaking her head furiously. "EH!? N-N-NO NO! NOT ABOUT ME.."

Kyou smiled a half smile at her reaction. What he said next came as another surprise for Tohru. "Don't worry. When you do get one... I'll give you my support."

Saying that Tohru was stunned at Kyou's words was understatement. She gaped at him, looking like she was still processing what he said in her mind. She then lowered her gaze, her voice broke when she answered him.

"... Ah, okay. Thank..."

Before she knew it, tears were starting to fall from her eyes.

"Why..." Looks like it was the boy's turn to panic. He really didn't expect this to be her reaction. "Why're you're crying?!"

"I-I don't know... For some reason t-tears suddenly..." Tohru sniffed, using her fingers to wipe away the tears forming in her eyes. "Wh... Why did this..."

It was like she was feeling everything at once. Her chest felt like it was going to burst. From what, she had no idea. What Kyou said, it had indeed touched her, but what she didn't understand why it made her feel sad at the same time. It would seem like she knew what Kureno, Arisa, and Momo were going through.

Having an unrealizable wish...

After a few minutes, Tohru was able to gather her bearings. She dropped her hands from her face and said:

"... What is your "wish", Kyou-kun?"

The boy reached out, using the back of his sleeve to wipe away a tear Tohru missed.

"... That a certain someone would stop crying."

"... Okay."

And then, the dream faded.
