Dream ღ 06
Warnings: Silly childhood dream? XD
Effects: None.

Tohru normally would fall asleep as soon as her mother tucked her in but for some reason, she was wide awake tonight. Kyoko sighed, gently stroking her daughters hair as she thought of a way to make little Tohru sleep.

"Would you like to hear a story Tohru?"

"Ah, yes please!"

"All right! I'll tell you why there's no cat in the zodiac~"

A long, long time ago...
God gathered all of the animals and told them,

"I will invite you all to my banquet tomorrow.
You must not be late for I have wonderful news."

After hearing the news, the rat who is a bit of a trickster
told its neighbor, the cat,
that the banquet is the day after tomorrow.

"So, will you be able to make it?" asked the rat.

"I will. Thank you neighbor!" said the cat.

When the day of the banquet came,
every animal was very excited.
On the way there, the rat rode on the ox,
and jumped off to get into the banquet first.
The ox followed, then came the tiger and everyone else followed.

The celebration lasted until morning.
Everyone had a wonderful time
That is... except for the cat
who was deceived by the rat.

Kyoko was about to say more but Tohru started hiccup and sniffed. That only meant one thing.

The little girl stood up from the futon, determination written all over her face.

"I've decided! I don't want to be born in the year of the dog anymore! I want it to be the cat!"

Kyoko grumbled, trying to stifle a yawn. "Whatever you like, Tohru. Mommy's really tired now."

"Really?! Thank you Mom~~"

Tohru stirs, staring up the ceiling. She doesn't want to get up yet, only wanting to get lost in her thoughts. Who knew her mother's story would be so relevant to everything that has happened to her until now?

certainly! ♥
Thank you very much, Tohru! I'm glad to have them as well.

I certainly am happy for you to have your friends here as well. I can't imagine being alone in such a strange new place.

Oh yes, having them here has made staying here more pleasant. Though, I'm still getting used to everything that happens here...

Oh yes, this world certainly is strange, I don't think I'll ever really get used to it! How long have you been here then, Tohru?
